In 1907, Lord Robert Baden -Powell held the first experimental camp at Brownsea Island. In 1908 Scouting was established. Now nearly 100 years later, Scouting has become the Biggest Brotherhood in the World, with an estimated 36 million Scouts worldwide.
'Scouting for Boys' written by Baden Powell is the 2nd best seller in the English language, only outrated by the Bible. Scouting Radio launched on Founders Day 22nd February 2005, making us the first Internet radio station for Scouting.- We are the home for Scouting News and Information worldwide. All Scouts are united under 1 Law, 1 Promise, 1 Salute and sign, whether they be male or female.
The concept for Scouting Radio was designed by Justin Dawson of Xtreme Media (pictured right in photo). mg~O*|

Justin is a lifelong Scout. He is currently Scoutmaster for Troop 44 Dublin, and has been in this position for the past 5 years. He has participated in Jamboree on the Internet on several occasions. During the summer of 2004, Justin spent 3 weeks in California, where he visited Boy Scouts of America camps.&^ m:V Z.p*L:w

He was amazed by the interest that American Scouts had on oversea's Scouting. Justin's brainwave of how an Internet Radio station could provide Scouts with knowledge of Scouting overseas was created. An international Scouting Radio team was formed - The product was Scouting Radio!_$D6yA8fb

Simon Lang is the Programme Manager for Scouting Radio. Simon was born in Kildare in 198 and has been involved in Scouting since the age of 6 as a Beaver.He is a life long Scout with two troops.
He was Scoutmaster of 3rd Kildare / 1st Celbridge for 4 years and has now taken on a district role as the Cilldara County Scout Programme Co-ordinator for Scouting Ireland.Simon sees himself progressing further into the management side with Scouting Ireland in the future.Z ~S+j@7W ?*z
Simon holds a diploma in Sound Engineering along with a BA in Media Production and Management from Ballyfermot College of further education. He has been involved with Scouting Radio since its establishment.
Apart from his role as Programming Manager for Scouting Radio, Simon co-presents "The Communications Centre" and "Simons Scenarios"
For Simon, Scouting Radio us a chance for him to share what he has learnt with other Scouts worldwide.

Justin Dawson is the Station Manager for Scouting Radio. Justin was born in Dublin in 1983 and has been involved in Scouting since the age of 6 as a Beaver. At 18 he gained his Woodbadge and is currently the Scoutmaster for Troop 44 Dublin, Baden Powell Scouts of Ireland.
Justin has been involved in Radio since he was 15 years of age. He gained a diploma in Radio and continued his studies to gain a 2:1 honours degree in Media Production and Management from Ballyfermot College of Further Education.*W*L{.Q\3A.GZ"SU-]
Upon setting up Scouting Radio as a college project Justin was a runner up of 800 entrants in the Oxygen student media awards 2005.'AQ q W$yT F O
In February 2007, before the stations second anniversary, Scouting Radio was a finalist in the Digital Media Awards.7e L u+?2v_%d FA
He has worked with several radio stations in Ireland and is the director of Xtreme Media. w d0e9N5B0t8P
Justin presents "Scouting Worldwide" on Scouting Radio. The interactive show looks at Scouting in different corners of the globe and talks on their unique Scouting values.&Za(_-Kj1s.z
In previous shows of Scouting Worldwide, Justin has spoke to Kevin Bardsley. Kevin Bardsley's son Garrett went missing in the Uinta Mountains on Thursday, August 19, 2004 and has never been found.

Colin is a life long Scout having been in Scouts for the past 50 years. He is a member of the Scout fellowship and an avid Scout Historian. His vast knowledge of Scouting and Mafikeng has to be admired. f h ~ m~ b
Colin runs his own website called "Scouting Milestones". He is currently writing books on the history of Scouting. He hopes to have them published by 2007 in time for the centenary.T e8?+R j-V @1iC
